Because of our central location, it is just a short trip from home to setup base camp and then take side trips to all of the attractions the great State of Michigan has at your disposal. We are less than two hours from Mackinac Island, an hour from The National Cherry Festival in Traverse City and and 40 minutes from Rooftop Landing Reindeer Farm. Minutes from Hartwick Pines State Park and the Wellington Farm Park. There are also casinos within a short drive of an hour or less. The region is also home to numerous highly-rated golf courses. All of these and many other side trips are just minutes away which puts you back at your campsite in plenty of time to enjoy s’mores over a crackling fire.
As Michigans largest inland lake, Houghton Lake spans 22,000 acres and offers great fishing, particularly for walleye, pike, bass, and bluegill. With plenty of options for boating, swimming, and water sports, its a fantastic destination year-round.
